Ideas?

Post your ideas for fun things to do on this thread by making a comment.

We will have a talent show/open mike combo on Saturday.

Should we have a "share my dulcimer" session where we get to talk about our indivdual instruments and test each other's out?

Have a formal time to have members "teach a tune"?

Descend upon Leavenworth and do a mini jam?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Please plan to bring $25 per tent you plan to use with you to the festival.

Thanks!

Directions

From the West take Highway 2 East through Monroe and then over Stevens' Pass. The Tumwater campground is approximately 20 miles east of the top of Stevens' pass, on the left side of the highway.

From the East take Highway 2 West through Leavenworth. The campground is 10 miles west of Leavenworth on the right hand side of the highway. From the South take Highway 97 North to Highway 2. Take Highway 2 West through Leavenworth. The campground is 10 miles west of Leavenwort on the right hand side of the highway.

We will be in one of the "loops" and will have the loop to ourselves. Look for the signs or listen for the music!

We have a site!

Join us for our 12th year gathering for music, friendship and fun! August 8-10.
Just $25 per tent for the whole weekend.

Traditionally, held at the Chatter Creek Campground, the annual gathering of the Northwest Hammered Dulcimer Society returns to its roots this year.

We will join together to share our collective musical experience and visit with friends old and new. Family, friends and other instruments are welcome!

Chatter Creek Campground is closed for the year due to a mudslide. Fortunately we were able to secure some sites at the nearby Tumwater Campground (see map). While this site does not have the level of magic that always exists at Chatter Creek, it is the music and laughter that we create when we come together that is truly magic.

We have room for 15 tents and up to 2-3 small camping vehicles.

Reserve your site under the "Reserve Here" thread by posting a comment or e mail Karri at KarriOtype@aol.com. Make sure you get your spot reserved if you are coming!

Also, feel free to post questions here as to info that you need or what you'd like to see happen on our weekend. If you have a question, odds are someone else does as well!

Although we have no formal instruction planned, if you want to teach a tune, bring it and we can all share. Let's plan stuff through this blog. Check back for updates.

We will have a talent show on Saturday night for dulcimer and non dulcimer performances (skits, songs, stories, poems, etc). If you teach, you can offer private lessons. If you sell stuff (CDs, hammers, dusters etc), feel free to bring your wares.

Let us know soon if you are coming. Hope to see you!
